Cosmelan®

What is Cosmelan® ?
Cosmelan® is a comprehensive 7-month treatment regimen designed to address various types of skin pigmentation. This depigmenting method effectively corrects skin hyperpigmentation, melasma, and chloasma while regulating melanin overproduction and controlling the appearance of new blemishes.
What to expect
Within 2–3 days post-treatment, expect skin flaking and peeling for up to two weeks, accompanied by slight tightness, itchiness, and redness initially.
Within a week
Blemishes should begin to fade, and within a couple of weeks, skin should exhibit a noticeably healthier glow. Over subsequent weeks, the benefits of Cosmelan® treatment should become more apparent, persisting over the following months.
Benefits
Cosmelan® aids in reducing hyperpigmentation, dark blemishes, acne scarring, and effectively treating melasma while balancing oil production. Added advantages include minimal discomfort and side effects, rapid results, and suitability for all skin types.

Treatment process
Cosmelan® involves a two-phase intensive regimen. The first phase comprises applying a potent depigmenting mask in-clinic, which is washed off at home after 8–10 hours. The second phase involves using at-home maintenance creams 2–3 times daily for up to seven months to augment the mask's effects.
Frequency
Cosmelan® is typically a one-time treatment, but may be repeated for stubborn pigmentation. While highly effective, permanent results are not guaranteed, especially with UV exposure. Adhering to post-treatment skincare is crucial for long-lasting results. Suitability: While Cosmelan® is suitable for all skin types, it is not recommended for individuals who have taken Roaccutane within the last 12 months, or have conditions such as cystic acne, open wounds, infection, rosacea, psoriasis, or dermatitis in the treatment area. Moreover, it is not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
